There is a pressing need for Hong Kong to develop into a pivotal link between the Pearl Delta’s “World Factories” and the global market. In order to face the growth of high-caliber manpower demand in the SCM sector, and consider to the provision of a BBA-SCM degree for the secondary school graduates, the SCM Department was therefore established in 2010.
The objective of Department of SCM is to provide students with specialized knowledge in SCM for personal and professional career development and/or further studies through theory-learning and action-learning to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The Department offers a broad-based Business and SCM curriculum as well as foundation Business and General Education modules to meet local and regional demands in the Pearl-delta, Greater China and global context. Some representative modules are: “Logistics Management”, “Quality Management and ISO 9000”, “Internship or Company Project”, and “Honours Project”.
The curricula and teaching materials of our modules are reviewed and revised regularly with participation from external academic and industry advisers. Moreover, our faculty members have actively participated in assessing academic programmes offered by Hong Kong and overseas accreditation bodies. With the rich module development and review experience of our faculty members and a rigorous programme monitoring mechanism, we are in a good position to address the needs of the ever-changing world.
